Home monitoring is most useful when it spots problems early: leaks, doors left open, unusual temperatures or areas that need reassurance.
Good projects
- Leak sensors near sinks, boilers, washing machines and baths.
- Garage or shed door sensors.
- Temperature sensors for cold rooms or vulnerable occupants.
- Motion alerts for non-private areas where reassurance is needed.
- Mailbox, gate or pet-area alerts where useful.
Privacy note
Agree what is monitored with the people living there. Helpful monitoring should support independence and confidence.
