Smart heating should make control simpler

Smart heating can help comfort and energy use, but only when zones, schedules and radiator behaviour are planned properly.

Plan first

  • List rooms that need separate schedules.
  • Check whether you need smart TRVs, a smart thermostat or both.
  • Make sure the system still has a sensible heat demand path.
  • Check Wi-Fi or hub coverage before buying.

Safety note

Do not alter boiler wiring, gas appliances, safety controls or mains wiring unless qualified. Use a heating engineer or electrician where controls need wiring.
